How this calculator works
Landed unit cost is your ex-factory price plus import duty (calculated on the ex-factory value), plus freight per unit and any other per-unit fees. This is the true cost to get one finished piece into your warehouse — always price off this number, not the factory price alone.
Gross margin is profit per unit divided by retail price, shown as a percentage. As a rough guide, apparel brands target 50%+ gross margin to leave room for marketing, returns, and platform fees. Markup shows how many times your landed cost the retail price is.
These figures are gross — they do not include marketing spend, payment processing, returns, or overheads. Use them as a starting point for your pricing, then layer in your operating costs.
