Manufacturing kids' clothing requires higher quality standards and stricter material safety requirements than adult garments — and your factory needs to fully understand and consistently meet them. Potato Apparel produces custom children's clothing from size 2T to 14Y: t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers, shorts, and co-ord sets.
All fabrics used in our children's garments meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification requirements — this means the fabric has been independently tested for harmful substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and allergenic dyes. We provide the OEKO-TEX certificate for any fabric used in a children's order on request.
Our children's range uses the same OEM and ODM manufacturing process as our adult line: pattern making from your tech pack or size chart, first sample for approval, AQL 2.5 quality inspection before bulk shipment. Construction standards for kids' garments include no sharp edges on hardware, safety stitching on all seams, soft hangtag attachment (no metal pin through packaging), and label placement that avoids skin contact with the printed face.
Decoration using water-based or discharge inks (lower chemical load than plastisol for kids' wear) is preferred. Embroidery and soft heat-transfer are also standard. MOQ from 50 pieces per style. Sample turnaround 7–10 business days.

What age ranges and sizes do you manufacture for?
We produce from size 2T (approximately 2 years) through to 14Y (approximately 14 years / pre-teen). Sizing can be based on your own size chart or we can provide a standard children's size chart for your market (US, UK, or EU sizing conventions).
What decoration is safe for children's clothing?
We recommend water-based or discharge screen printing (lower chemical load than standard plastisol inks), flat embroidery, and soft heat-transfer prints. We avoid metal pins in hangtag attachment for children's garments as a safety standard, and check all hardware for sharp edges before shipping.
Do you work with school uniform programs and youth sports teams?
Yes. We regularly produce for school uniform suppliers, youth sports clubs, and children's brand subscription boxes. We can accommodate individual names, player numbers, and school crest embroidery. Orders with multiple size breakdowns within a single style are standard.
