Custom swimwear requires specialist fabrics and construction methods — and getting it wrong means products that fade, sag, lose elasticity, or pill after just a season in chlorine and saltwater. Potato Apparel manufactures custom swimwear using UPF 50+ rated nylon/spandex (82/18) and recycled ECONYL® blends that are specifically engineered to resist chlorine degradation, UV fading, and stretch loss in saltwater.
We produce one-piece swimsuits, bikini sets (top and brief, top and shorts), rash guards (short-sleeve and long-sleeve), board shorts, and swim coverups. All swimwear is constructed with fully lined cups and body panels, flatlock seaming for comfort against skin, and chlorine-resistant elastic in all waistband and leg opening channels.
Hardware and detail options: adjustable halter ties, ring hardware, side-tie bikini bottoms, underwire cups, boned bodice structure for one-pieces, and removable padding. UPF 50+ label included as standard on rash guards and full-coverage styles.
Sublimation printing on polyester/spandex blends allows unlimited color all-over pattern design — ideal for swimwear brands with signature print collections. Flatlock top-stitching in contrast thread for a sporty finish. Custom elastic, lining color, and hardware are all available. MOQ from 50 pcs per style. Sample turnaround 7–10 business days. What fabric is used for custom swimwear manufacturing?
We use 82/18 nylon/spandex (the industry standard for swimwear — durable, soft, holds shape) and 78/22 recycled ECONYL® for sustainability-focused brands. Both fabrics are UPF 50+ rated and chlorine resistant. We also offer recycled polyester/spandex for board shorts and swim trunks.
Can I get an all-over print on custom swimwear?
Yes. Sublimation printing on polyester/spandex allows unlimited colors and full all-over pattern coverage. The print is embedded in the fabric fiber rather than sitting on the surface, so it will not peel or fade. MOQ for sublimation swimwear is 50 pcs per design.
Do you make padded swimwear with removable cups?
Yes. Both sewn-in fixed padding and removable foam cup pockets are available. Cup sizes can be scaled to your size run specification. Underwire can be added for structured bikini tops and one-piece bodices.
Can you produce a matching swimwear and coverup set?
Yes. Matching sets including bikini + kimono coverup, one-piece + shorts, or swimsuit + sarong are available. We ensure dye-lot or sublimation print matching across all pieces in a set.
